ClemsonLife and Classic Cars

Thanks to Roger Troutman, a pillar in the Clemson Community, an impromptu car show was organized for the ClemsonLife students to attend. Roger asked me a few days before, and I said YES! I didn't imagine what a fun occasion full of ClemsonLife joy it would become. My husband, David, myself, and a couple of friends brought two Ferraris, one Mercedes G-Wagon, a BMW convertible, and a 1956 Buick. In addition, there was a field of about 30 other cars. It was a beautiful fall day and perfect for such an event. One of my first visitors was a student named Nick, featured in the photo below. After the show, he enthusiastically told me that it had been his "best day ever" as a Clemson Tiger. David and I have a 2012 Ferrari 458 Italia Spider in Clemson Orange. Nick knew right off the bat more about the car than I will ever know, just about. He said in his hometown in New Jersey he had visited the Ferrari dealership there twice. The students enjoyed a wide variety of classic automobiles. Two of the girls loved the Mercedes G-Wagon the best. Several guys liked the Ferraris the best. Also had a chance to take Amazing Grace Clements for a ride. She is the daughter of Clemson University's Jim and Beth Clements. She was all smiles!  I was tempted to do donuts in Lot 5 by Death Valley, where the car show was located, but thought better of it. The joy in the eyes of many of the students made the Sunday afternoon commitment well worthwhile.  Below is information regarding ClemsonLife and more information on Roger Troutman.
